We’re glad that you have taken up our Travel Abroad Loan Laptop service. The laptop is configured completely differently to your standard day-to-day University IT resource, so we would ask that you take a little time to get yourself setup and familiarised before you head off. You will be able to install any extra programs as needed.
Getting Started
- Power On: Press the power button to start your laptop, usually found in the top right corner of the keyboard.
- When asked for a wifi connection please select eduroam - use your [email protected] and usual password and click 'Connect' when prompted before selecting 'Next' bottom right.
- At the next screen where you see the University of Aberdeen logo please again use your [email protected]
- There will now be a short wait while the laptop sets up, typically no more than 10 mins.
- Autopilot will have installed Microsoft Office and OneDrive for you. OneDrive will automatically sync content saved on your staff device, if you don't want this to happen on the travel laptop OneDrive can be disabled using this guide (this will not affect other devices).
