1. Personal Devices:
- Create a new account here on the Wolfram Mathematica web site, using your university email address (e.g., [email protected])
(Please note, this web site is independent of the University of Aberdeen)
- Click on Create one (as shown below, in red text - do not try to sign in):
- You will receive an email from Wolfram.com asking you to confirm your email . You must do this. If you don’t see this in your Outlook inbox, please check you Junk Email folder in Outlook:
- Wolfram will then provide you with a temporary licence and a link for you to click on to access the software. Initially, this access will last for up to 2 weeks.
- The University will be asked to confirm your license.
- You must download the correct installer for your operating system (Mac, Windows, or Linux) to your Downloads folder and run it from there.

2. University Managed Windows Devices (Staff and PGR Students only):
- Go to the Software Center on your computer: >Start >Software Center, and click to open it.
- Select Mathematica from the list of applications, read all relevant notes.
- Click Install.
3. Classroom Devices
- Mathematica is also available in our computer classrooms.
4. VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
- Mathematica is also available on the VDI
