[1] All shared drives on the networked storage system are accessible from one starting point: \\uoa\global. Once this path is mapped in Windows,
you will see the directory structure, folders, and files relevant to your access permissions.
[2] Personal Work-Related Data (e.g., holiday records, archived email (PST files), job description, training/course materials/presentations,
staff job descriptions, appraisal information, disciplinary correspondence).
Please note:
H: drives
- H: drives are networked and are necessary …. software requirements??? and have a small element of personal storage (10 GB)
C: drives/Device Storage
- Your C: drive is the internal storage on your device (computer, laptop, tablet).
- Your data is at risk if you ONLY store it on this drive as data is NOT backed up.
- If data on this drive is lost or corrupted, it cannot be retrieved.
Other Storage Options:
- SharePoint (Collaboration)
- MS Teams (Collaboration)
- MyAberdeen (Course Materials)
Third-Party Storage
- If storing University data in a cloud storage service (e.g., Drop Box or Google Drive), prior to any data transfer, you must ensure an SCDA (Supplier Cyber and Data Assessment) has been completed by the supplier and reviewed by the Information Security Team
Other Storage Media
- EHDs (External hard drives) and USBs are not reliable storage media, and you should only use them for transient data where you have no connectivity or need to move a large volume of data.
- If required, you should purchase media via the IT Service Desk.
